Because it's the generation with the worst designs so far. I mean, I thought Gen 4 was bad for the longest time, but every time my friend who's been out of it for about 10 years and is playing through X right now points out a retarded design, there's about an 80 % chance that it's from Gen 5. You pretty much have the option of playing a game which is either mostly about the story, or mostly about the gameplay. That's the grand thing about Gen V and it's 3rd installment.

Gen V had verity of instruments and the themes sound more engaging than the Gen III soundtrack. Gen III's soundtrack just sounded stale.

Well, there IS team preview for online battles and the auto repel thing...

No, tbh gen 4 a best.
Although GSC>HGSS in terms of music, gen 4 had Sinnoh too, so it wins. Gen 2 being a close second.
Gens 3 and 5 only had a few good tracks but overall their music was the worst thing about these generations.

I didn't really like Gen 5 at all, though I have to admit I did skip B/W and went straight to Black 2. I don't care much about story so I suppose it didn't make that much of a difference.
I just didn't like the linearity of the region and the uninspired designs. The Haxorus and Hydreigon lines were good, though.

I struggled more in SS, mainly because of the retarded levels. If you want to grind, there's always the Stadium/Court and Cynthia/Morimoto.

I liked White Tree Hollow. My only complaint with PWt is that it was Battle Maison-tier cheating. But yeah, it was cool to see all Gym leaders and Champions. Too bad they didn't include E4 members.

For what reason? It plays absolutely terribly, those levels are retarded. It's terribly unbalanced and if I wanted to catch Kanto mons for the most of the game I would just play the originals.
Fun fact: If you combine Johto mons of all gym leader you'll only get 4

Move gen 4 higher up because it made significant changes to the game and Platinum is one of the better pokemon games on par with BW/2
