Ok faggots, since i'm so kind, i will try to explain what's wrong with competitive pokémon.

>inb4 this thread again
>inb4 smogon
>inb4 OP is a faggot

Well then, i'll start with stating my stance into this topic. VGC is fine if you like randomness, smogon is fine if you like randomness as well. I like what smogon is trying to do, too bad most admins there are 12yo or never played any other game with a competitive format. I'am pretty neutral in this, and I don't prefer any format over the other, because, i barely play pokemon at competitive level.

>but anon, if you don't play it then how come you can have a opinion in this matter?

Well, glad you ask that. I understand pretty much all about the meta. I suck at doing teams and strategies, but i understand the meta. I watch some poketubers when i'm bored. Also, i have a some good experience with other games and their respective competitive format (trackmania, tf2, cs:go, quake live, to name a few)

Now, what does a good competitive format needs? The ability of being consistent by your own merit. I don't care what you say or what your argument is, by the time a game has some kind of chance or randomness applied to it, it can't be considered competitive by my standards.

>but anon, dota2 and league all have random crits and these games combined have a competitive scene bigger than all of the other games combined. now what?

Well...to be honest i can't really express my opinion there, since i don't play either of those games. So if someone do play them and could tell me how random crits work in both this games i would be really appreciated.

That's basically it, randomness kills (most) competitive games, and you know it is true. I know you hate to miss a 95% accurate move when you really needed it to land.

If this thread gets a lot of people in here i'll try to explain a competitive model of pokémon that i've had in my mind for some time now... the problem? it would only work in simulators.
