From Serebii- "Back on August 20th, 2013, it was discovered that in North America, The Pokémon Company registered two trademarks. These trademarks are Pokkén Fighters and Pokkén Tournament, as well as a Japanese trademark for ポッ拳 Pokken, with no indication as to what they are for. After those trademarks were discovered, nothing new came of it. However, our friends at GoNintendo have discovered that these two trademarks were registered by The Pokémon Company in Europe last Thursday, May 1st 2014. We'll bring more on this as it comes."
