Yeah, I agree. And he can get Swords Dance too if I recall correctly. It's just I love the AV + Scald combo. Plus his immunity to Poison means he can't be toxiced, it'd be great if he had Competitive so he had a way to fish for +2 SpA boosts.

Nothing against Defiant on him. It's super great against Intimidate and Defoggers. I just would prefer Competitive.

I've seen everyone complain about it being slow. I don't remember anything being slow. The most compelling thing I've seen is that the Sinnoh dex is severely gimped in D/P. Most of the new evos can't even be acquired until you have the national dex. Platinum fixes this matter, and I think plugs in some more random pokes to go with it. This allows certain battles to make tons more sense.

Because Diamond and Pearl were slow as shit. The Player's walking speed in Diamond and Pearl is actually slightly slower than the walking speed in Gen I. The Surfing speed was shit, too. No Distortion World, not as hard, and Platinum has a better Pokedex.

As far as Pokemon games go, it's the best, and as far as third games/sequels go, it's tied with B2/W2 over most improvements.

D/P was executed poorly and Platinum covered up what was wrong with it, e.g. slow movement especially surfing, only a select few pokemon to use, more postgame and all that

How do you expect me to prove you wrong when you're absolutely correct OP?

Incidentally I find it hilarious that DP are the worst games in the franchise and Platinum is the best. Gen 4 is actually my second favorite generation because of it.

The only reason this is favored is because it's the only post game that has any structure to it. True, the original G/S/C did this, too, but here, they adjusted it to where you're not going to mow down everyone because apparently no one can be higher than the E4/Champion. No, these guys can have higher levels now than the first E4 fight. Essentially, it's just because one can end up playing this game for a lot longer than any of the others. And that's without the battle frontier, which is still in this game, btw.
