I have both a 2DS and 3DS, and I the 2DS is actually more comfotable to play on to be honest. The only obvious disadvantage is that it's not as compact. And I used to think the 2DS was a stupid idea as well.

It was a few weeks before my 18th birthday and I was hyped beyond belief for XY. I honestly didn't have much intention on getting a 3ds, but it was the only thing I asked for. Jan 23rd there it was... My beautiful red 3ds XL. I have been blown away ever since. The games are incredible and mariokart 7 is what changed my mind on just how amazing this console was going to be. I haven't been disappointed by a single 3ds game I've bought yet.

3ds xl were on sale cheap on black friday. Needed another 3ds to trade evolve some pokemon. Still have both and rarely use the XL over my regular 3ds. I have giant man hands, I don't understand why people complain about hand cramps on the smaller hand held.

My 3DS XL fell less than a foot onto a hardwood floor.
Functioned just fine but came out of it with a nasty sprawling top screen crack that just made things hard to read.

I've seen a regular take quite a few tumbles and be just dandy. The Nintendium mines might be running dry.

Also some of these were either on 3DS first or were multiplats when they were released.

VLR, Sonic Boom, the lego games, the adventure time games, Rayman Origins are a few there.

And you realise that when a company makes resources, they don't fucking collect them in a cave and sleep on top of them like Smaug? Of course Gamefreak can say "Hey, give us those models you did so we can brighten them up".

Afterall, pokemon stadium and XD were made by different companies, but they used the same models.

Played all of them, bar revolution. Models are the same. Lighting, skinning may be different, and they have updated animations, some may have been adjusted but for the large part the models have been recycled.

I'm not saying this is a bad thing, I think they look really good in X and Y and I think it's a nice step towards creating more defined pokemon, and excited to see what can happen now that Gamefreak don't have to redesign every gen and they have the resources to use pokemon in different circumstances, e.g. overworld, being ridden etc.
