Opposite version from my friend, though it does sort of depend on megas since everyone is stingy as fuck about those stones.

Might be going Mega Sapphire just for that reason.

I'm going to remake what I remember of my old Sapphire team before I lost it just before Diamond came out, so Sharpedo, Minun, Kelceon, Breloom, and Swellow from Emerald because NOPE to using Kyogre.

After doing various nuzlocke/monotype/challenge runs on Emerald, I think I'll go with AS and Mudkip, just like my first run of Sapphire. Although version exclusives may be able to sway me to try Ruby instead.

There seems to be a lot of people getting AS, I'm not sure which I'll get. I got Ruby back in gen 3 so originally I was thinking of doing that again but then I thought of getting AS so that I could transfer up my Groudon and then get Kyogre in AS (Although that means I wouldn't be able to get the supposed Groudonite/Omegaite). Also since everyone seems to be wanting AS that means if I get OR it would be much easier to get version exclusives.

Is the only reason everyone is getting AS because Kyogre is much better than Groudon?

Also I'd pick Torchic, because I love birds and I always pick it.

Already did a playthrough of Ruby using a Swampert solo, and doing an Emerald Nuzlocke now with kfc.
Kyogre and fish in general are dumb, so it's Ruby remake for me. Also Treecko was my first ever hoenn pokemon, so that's a factor too

Sapphire was my first Gen III game - only feels right to pick up the remake first.

I can't quite remember what I started with all those years ago, even though I have the cartridge sitting in my drawer, but nothing to play it with. Probably Treecko.

Will decide on starter if/when Sceptile and Swampert get mega evolutions and which one is the most viable/looks the coolest. But I honestly love all three starters pretty equally so I'll never come to a definite decision until then

I'll probably just trade over my unused Torchic from X/Y anyway.
