It has the best region in my opinion. The map felt diverse and the region was laid-out in such a way that minimal backtracking was required (when you had to revisit an older location, a new path had opened up since you got a new HM). Also there was a lot of smaller things that I loved, such as the trick house, secret bases, mach/acro bike, contests, braille puzzles, etc. Also I really liked the Pokemon designs.

That said I favor Gen IV as a region most, snowy areas = instant winner, Galactic best team and best battle theme, hardest E4. Platinum fixed D&P thankfully

Great music and cool exploration. Let my young mind wander so much with all that open space to explore and all those strange places on the map you could never reach. Plus 2 page pokedex entries and berry tags.

It sounds kind of lame, but I love a game that immerses you. So much to read and do and listen to and find. It's like it's an actual adventure.
