So, last year we got X and Y. This post may sound negative so let me start by saying that, obviously, X and Y are the most innovative and refreshing pokemon games to date and really upgraded the series in many ways that were long overdue. I love them.
Now, this year, we get Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby (terrible titles and all). The fans wanted it and I'm excited - but it's a remake. That's not to say it isn't going to be a good game, but hear me out...
2015 we will get Pokemon Z (most likely). Another Pokemon that won't be exactly "new". Again, will probably be a good game, but what I'm getting at is that Pokemon fatigue has set in, and set in hard. For me it was after Pearl. I didn't play Platinum, HG/SS, B/W or B/W2. I only played Black right before I bought Y just to be able to Pokebank 'mons and see them in 3D. To be honest with you, I haven't even finished Y yet.
Now we have to play/hear about 3 new Pokemon games before we get a fresh, actually NEW one in 2016? And will THAT Pokemon game innovate the same way X and Y did, or will we have 3 more generations on 3DS that look more or less exactly the same?
tl;dr the next "new" Pokemon won't likely arrive until at least 2016, and we will have at least 2 released before then. Are you getting tired of the series at all? What does it need?
