May/Brendan get downgraded to Dawn/Lucas level importance, outside of still being the first trainer battle. Only now they have a starter weak to yours like Shauna did.

Wally also just happens to catch the starter strong against yours at some point. Needs something to fill his team out to a full six.

If something like this happened, I'd probably die from the sheer, gleeful, explosive mindfuckery that would ensue. Especially since N was my favorite character.

Although I always thought N was some descendent of the king who ruled the (now sunken) kingdom where you can find relics (the ones that you sell to that maniac...) And since Meloetta is connected to that kingdom in the anime, that really makes me wonder.
