Chose Treecko last time but I can't deny the awesomeness that is Blaziken so I may go with that this time. I actually ended up with all three starters in my party in third gen since friends were restarting their games and gave me their starters.

The Water starter is almost always easy mode, and Mudkip made RSE fucking babytown frolics.

Sceptile is the most challenging, except not by much. It's still really good. Blaziken is only barely worse than Swampert ingame, with great attacking STABs.

Ghost/Grass and Grass/Steel are decent combos.

Not to mention that by the time Marshtomp evolved the team carry moved to Gardevoir and Swampert underperformed like a bitch.

If I want a serious contributor though I should just breed a Speed Boost Torchic and trade it over rather than bitch about my own expectations.
