So I just got this game for the sake of having something to transfer my older Pokemon to X and Y (never played gen 5) and I thought that I might as well Nuzlocke it.

Would I be missing much in White 2 if I just read a synopsis of Black and White's story?

Yeah, if you're just playing it for transferring Pokemon up, you won't need to know the story too much, and you won't be missing too much.

Either way, enjoy White 2, as a game it's one of the best and I hear it's also one of the most challenging to Nuzlocke.

Yup, at least that's what I hear since I've never Nuzlocked myself. But I saw a pastebin of the difficulties for Nuzlocking the games and B2W2 were pretty high up.
