>>19119030Honestly, it's not great. Don't get my wrong, I am actually excited for OR/AS, but R/S/E were actually the weakest games in the series for loads of reasons.
Just some of the bad;
>Regional PokéDex is awfulI will note that some of the Pokémon introduced in Gen 3 were great, but the overall selection and the Pokémon from previous Generations that appear were awfully selected. It was the first game in the series where you actually couldn't catch 'em all, causing Nintendo of America to drop that catchphrase. Shit, there wasn't even any way to get Eevee without forking over money for the Game Cube spin-off.
>Love it/Hate it musicOne thing you hear all the time is "The music is awful" and "Best music in the franchise". It's the Pokémon music equivalent of marmite. You're either gonna' love it or fucking hate every second.
>SurfingThere's a FUCKTON of water. This however wont be bad because the water routes in X/Y were gorgeous, and im sure the negative feedback regarding all the water in R/S/E has been referred to in redesigning those routes.
>Gym Leaders & ChampionsSteven is an ok at best champion. Nobody likes Wallace. The Gym Leaders are arguably the worst in the franchise, people only remembering Norman for the gimmick of being your father, Liza & Tate for the gimmick of a Double Battle Gym, and Flannery, because of the porn.
>StoryI can't be fucked to explain why the story was shit, but it is. The evil teams are retarded.
Some pro's of R/S/E;
>RegionThe region was very different from Gen 1 and 2, and a lot of older fans didn't like the change. However, the Region was pretty, and will probably look gorgeous in Gen 6.
>TL;DRR/S/E are arguably the worst games in the series, but it's mostly because of limitations at the time, visually and technically.
I feel like what the games tried to do in 2003 failed hard, and the fanboys are blinded by nostalgia, but at this point in the franchise, they can "try again" so to speak, and get it right.
