Gen 3 isn't my favorite gen, and I honestly thought it would never get a remake because you can transfer your Pokemon all the way from RSE to the latest gen, but I'm still glad they're actually making it. It's pretty blatantly pandering to nostalgiafags yeah, but that's what Pokemon has been doing alot recently, and it's guaranteed to be successful. Hell, not banking on it eventually would be pretty stupid because of the large demand. At least they're making a smart financial move as opposed to just pandering for panderings sake like with giving Charizard 2 Megas.

i tried immersing myself again with gen 3 games when bw2 came out but it just fucking sucks and i didn't even get out past the second town
