>>19121972The difference is that your contest bros are dead weight throughout 90+% of the game, and you only bring them into battle to teach them moves they would otherwise never use. Plus the whole PokéBlock minigame you have to play for the sake of playing the contest minigame.
And then they completely changed the effects of contest moves in gen IV, forcing you to relearn all the shitty effects again.
Maybe I'm just not autistic enough to enjoy this stuff. Are there even any rewards besides ribbons?
