Hello, Mr. AlphaOmega here.

I’m one of the lucky few gametesters who have played the alpha version of Pokémon OmegaRuby.

I come bearing gifts of some secrets and reveals.

First of all, Pokémon following you will not be returning, at least in the builds of the game I’ve played. It was apparently planned and tested with a limited number of Pokémon. It caused such an FPS lag that it had to be removed though.

Next, there will be new Mega Pokémon. Yes, Sceptile and Swampert will be getting Megas. Plusle and Minun are also getting Megas, with their Mega Stones being Pluslite and Minunite respectively. There are approximately 40 new Mega Pokémon that I’ve seen including a handful of Unova Pokémon. Volcaronite is a new Mega Stone that I’ve encountered whilst testing some of the post-game content.

The last four Gym Leaders will use non-Hoenn stage 2 evolutions. Mega Pokémon. The Elite Four use Mega Pokémon. The first four Gym Leaders will use non-Hoenn stage 2 evolutions, but only in rematches.

Hoenn is expanded, with a much larger northern Hoenn including a couple of new cities. One of these bigger cities takes on the role of “massive city featuring special camera angles”, though Lilycove City gets slightly expanded too.

There is a post-game region said to be at least as big as Hoenn, with many facilities. However, I don’t know much about it as it was not accessible in any of the builds I’ve played.

The Battle Frontier from Emerald IS in. It’s also been expanded with a few new battle modes, including one which specialises in Inverse Battles.

Feel free to ask me questions. I’ll let you know if I can’t answer them.
