Development is not made in parallel. The creative team gets things down rather quickly (story, art, etc.)
The engine team is what lags behind usually (bugs, etc.). They worked on HGSS while the next gen was being developed, then switched to it when the HGSS was done

Bullshit. That's like saying the HGSS and FRLG didn't have any of the features in DPPt. Not only did they have the same quality of graphics and pokemon battles, but they also had similar side additions (i.e: the safari zone).

Except your timeline is wrong

XY happens the same time as BW2 which was 2 years after BW. The gap between FRLG and HGSS is 3 years which means the gap between RSE and DPPt is 3 years. In all that's 5 years and seeing how Blue, Cynthia, and the rest of the crew are around the same age in the PWT, BW most likely happened 1-2 years after HGSS/DPPt.

Clemont is 16 in XY. Which means if Super Training is still present in ORAS, he was 9 or 10 when he created it.

Shauna and Clemont aren't the same height as Emma. They are actually like two inches shorter than the protagonists who are the same height as Emma. However, they are taller than the youngsters but same height as the school kids.

Shauna and Clemont are either 14 or 15, but I'm guessing 15 since I don't think they would have a 14 year old go on dates with a 16 year old.

Since Clemont is 14 or 15, and XY happens 6-7 years after RSE, if Super Training exists in RSE that means Clemont was 8 or 7 when he made it and one of the NPCs say he was young when he initially built the Prism Tower so I'm pretty sure him making a artificial training system so young isn't so farfetched.

Gen 2 does have the worst progression. The levels are all over the fucking place, fighting level 25 donphans at blackthorn gym and level 30 gravelers before the elite 4. And the entire region looks the same, there's no variety in the environment. Plus team rocket bases are not as interesting as the side story content in gen 3 and 4.

Johto didn't feel like a complete experience because they had to fit in kanto, which was just overblown, barren filler until you fight Red.

First games in a gen are Team A. Once Team A has a working engine they give it to Team B. Team A finishes their game while Team B work on a new one and release it a year or so after Team A's one while Team A works on the new engine for the next games.

That's why the later game in a gen is always better and makes better use of the features. They have the same dev time, but they have to spend less time building the engine and more time making a good game

Even if you choose to ignore the schoolkid sprite you can not refute that he is already able to speak without any sort of problem, which a kid with 3-4 years wouldn't be able to, so there's dewfinitely more time between HGSS and BW than you assume

The question is if it is going to be in 3D or just plain sprites ala Black/White because nostalgia, no SuperTraining, no Amie, nothing related to 3D gimmicks. Maybe overworld sprites like HG/SS and that's it.
