>>19125854we could argue about a lot of flaws that these games had just like any other
but there are three great things unanimously agreed by the majority of the fanbase that got to play the games in their time:
>the soundtrackIt's true that they abused sounds like the trumpets, but still they managed to give us what is probably the most memorable OST. It has a good amount of great tracks and it's considered one of the best soundtracks of pokemon, if not the best, by many fans.
>the map-regionit was the first region to introduce a great pinch of variety. We got a lot of different environments and some of the towns/cities were original as fuck.
Shipwrecked ferry, that ash route, the volcano, pacifidlog town, fortree city, the underwater ruins, diving, the jagged pass, meteor falls, sootopolis city, the desert....
Gen III had the best and most varied exploration, mixed with some details that helped in the immersion (like the zigzagoon's random yells that could be hear in the route 119)
>water routesliterally one of the best things of the games
it could get tiring, yes.. but motherfuckers devised the repel for a reason
for the first time in a pokemon game I felt like I was really lost in a sea with so many things to explore
and the diving only added more to it, which was great thanks to the "dive song" being one of the most relaxing tracks ever made in the franchise
however, we can see a lot of people always whining about those things
normally is people who just left pokemon before Gen III due to the fear of being bullied for it as they were entering middle school
>>19125967when some of them came back, they did it with Sinnoh, and for them the difference between Gen II and Gen IV was what made Sinnoh great. Usually those are the guys that say Gen IV is the best one even though is one of the weakest
When they tried Gen III, they made a step back, so for them, it was shit
Not all of them is for this, of course
Many just have different tastes and opinions
