What if by "full-blown remakes", it's meant that GF is re-designing the region (I.E. a new Hoenn), and the storyline completely?

This is Game Freak we're talking about, "full-blown" probably means "this is a direct port with no changes" to them.

This isn't the third gen anymore, even though it's remaking the third gen. HG/SS changed the second gen. Expect to see the third gen changed.
