It's hard to pick. Most of them have their good parts. Tyrannitar's always been my favorite along with Dragonite, but Hydregion is clearly a superior sort of contender with its stats and learnset, and Salamence was a Gen 3 bro (and, I believe, has better speed, sp. attack, and HP).

Goodra has 252/252+ physical Bulk, meaning it runs 4 SpAtk EVs
It's onehitted by edgyshark, if it doesn't run a + Def nature.

And even with max physical bulk Chomp has more than a 50% chance to OHKO.

Recover would not make Goodra Not shit.

More Pokemon serve Goodra's role better with fewer weaknesses and without needing to waste a slot on recover.

Latias, for example, outclasses Goodra in literally all areas. While being better looking, and possessing an immunity to one of the most widespread coverage moves around.
