Nah. That only works for wild Pokemon battles.

Yes you can, with super training... (And vitamins up to a point...)

What I mean "to a point" is that you can insta-get up to 100EVs in a stat with them, but the maximum is 252, so you can't fully train a stat with them.

Sometimes a Pokemon with a really awesome ability (Like Contrary Serperior) can never be obtained. Hidden abilities in particular can only come from a few locations, those being hidden grottos in Gen V, friend safaris in Gen VI, and other such places...

But some Pokemon with hidden abilities (Like most starters) don't appear in any of those locations.

I was under the impression that you could get pretty much anything(bar legendaries) in the friend safari, with a decent chance of HA.

With the recent announcement of the Hoenn remakes, I've decided to pick Emerald back up, but it says the internal battery is dead.

It says the game can be played, and that "time based events will no longer occur". Will this keep me from playing the game in full in any way, or would I just miss out on certain day to day things like berries?

you mean what do they do? they determine a pokemons base for a stat. if a pokemon has 0 in attack it naturally cannot have very high attack. if it has 31 in attack it is capable of having the highest attack possible. etc.

i don't know how you would know that they were "an elitist" but if you leave the ditto up for long enough somebody might fall for it. some people don't care about legendaries either. a shiny ditto is probably rarer than most legendary.

Each IVs equal to 1 status at level 100.

Most important in speed, since 1 point difference in speed will change the turn order. Although you're at a disadvantage if you don't have perfect defense and right attack too

I'll keep that in mind. I'm imagining with the gen 3 remake announced, the gen 3 legendary's values are going to plummet fast. So the non event legendaries will be pretty much up for grabs as long as you have a shiny ditto huh?

Yes and no. Some Pokemon will have no moves available by level up, others will have some but drastically fewer. However in all cases, there will be moves that can be heart-scaled in (though again, a lot less.)

In this particular instance, yes. But as I said, the heart scale options are limited, sometimes drastically. Some moves will be lost. Always check Bulba or something before evolving a stone Pokemon, in case you lose a move you really want.

Actually, since Power Gem is a starting move for Mismagius, it will learn it automatically if you evolve it at level 1. But if it's at a higher level then yes, you can use a Heart Scale.

However, it only works if the move is actually part of Mismagius's learnset. If you have a Misdreavus with Pain Split and you forget Pain Split and evolve it, you can't re-learn Pain Split because it's not a level-up move for Mismagius, only Misdreavus.

Are egg moves forever attached to a pokemon and passed down regardless if the parent remembers it or not?

eg

Makuhita with Bullet Punch but forgot it and a Ditto make an egg, would the hatched Makuhita know Bullet Punch?

If you put the Makuhita on the Daycare when he still knows Bullet Punch, all of the eggs will know Bullet Punch, regardless if Makuhita levels up a ton and forgets the move. As long as it's still in the Daycare, the mons will hatch with that move.

if you play on Showdown you can enter "/data MOVE" into the chatbox and it'll give you info about it.

If you play on cart you can open up a window of Showdown, join any chatroom, and then just use the chatbox for looking up info. It's way quicker than Googling every move.
