I bet there is going to be a string of new islands you can go to for the post game of alpha sapphire and omega ruby.
In the islands they will probably fit in side quests to get new mega stones and volcanion(would be fitting because it goes with the island motif)
Also there will probably be some new battle thing implemented on the new islands.
