Just posted this on other thread, but this was in honor of my very first shiny, which I got on a Japanese silver before the game was released in America and found it even before the red gyarados. I wanted to name it its Japanese name but there's some offensive word in there apparently, so I named it Gin (Japanese for silver)

The sweet lady in pic related is my newest shiny, and an unplanned one, too!

I'm currently breeding Pokemon for a mono-fairy team (non shiny), and I was struggling to hatch a pentaperfect Spritzee.

It just so happens, I hatch two shiny Spritzee before a pentaperfect one. The first one had only 3IVs, but Petit Four here has 4 IVs where they need to be.

She is a little slow because she's missing Speed... and also, because she's an Aromatisse.

And what do you know, I'm hatching some extra Love Ball Mawiles and a shiny pops out. Missing Attack though, so no good.

It's true though.

Gonna' pick Treeco. Haven't decided if I will use it or not, but I know for a fact that I am going to send over a level 10 Espeon and Umbreon to use, and play through the region Orre-style.

Considering MM'ing so that the Umbreon is Shiny.

Honestly, it's because Hoenn has the worst regional Dex to date. Hell, you can't even get an Eevee. So yeah, I plan on sending over those two Pokémon instead.

Weird thing is, Hoenn actually has a great selection of Pokémon, some of my favorites coming from there.

But the overall regional Dex, locations of the Pokémon (in terms of finding the Pokemon you want as early as possible), Pokémon available from previous gens, ect, is the worst ever, and is a large part of why Hoenn was always a chore to play for me.

Plus, everyone got Torchic in X/Y, and Treeco/Mudkip are horribly outclassed, so unless they get Mega's, even the starters are gonna feel lackluster.

I'm hoping that GF wont be afraid to add in Pokémon from more recent Gens to pad out the routes, ESPECIALLY the water routes, so we don't have to deal with endless Tentacools and Wingulls, but if FR/LG & HG/SS are anything to go by, they probably won't have any Gen 4-6 Pokémon until Post-Game.

I never played it either, outside of a bit of Colosseum. Espeon as a Starter is an instant win. From what I saw, the game was great though. I think it was missing something, like it felt... Small? But a re-make/sequel on the WiiU would fix this, because, well, it's the WiiU, they wouldn't be able to get away with anything less than a game as big as, if not bigger than X/Y

I enjoyed the GameCube games a lot back when they came out. Got my first shiny in XD.

Though there's not really any wild Pokemon to catch, only Shadow Pokemon. The second game did introduce areas where you could catch some wild Pokemon, but the selection was very limited.

The bullshit thing was that Hoenn introduced a shitload of water Pokemon, but a lot of them got put into very niche roles, so the oceans were left with barely anything unique. You had the dive Pokemon, the fishing Pokemon, hell even Spheal was left for Shoal Cave.

Gen 3 Pokemon were pretty cool though. I might hunt for Shiny Solrock sometime before ORAS comes out.

Adding the Nat dex wouldn't really do much. Technically you could trade in whatever Pokemon you wanted from your Gen 3 games into Colo and XD during the post game, but before that the game is built around the fairly sparce pickings for Pokemon. Orre has very few wild Pokemon, so your choices are either what people give you or what you snag as Shadow Pokemon.

The region itself was alright, the towns themselves had to be designed for exploration in mind so they're a lot bigger and multi-layered which was cool in the day, and due to the "underhanded crooks in a steampunk region" plot, you got some areas in the game that you wouldn't see in a main Pokemon game, like a literal underground city for criminals. But a lot of the areas in Colo suffered from being all desert based, and XD had some problems with being a bit cartoony to shift Orre away from being all sand (like the "haunted" lab area). The music is catchy as all fuck though.

Colo did indeed feel short, but it was basically an "added bonus" to the main game's stadium features. XD was fully fledged but kinda lacked some of the deepness of the original.

Both are still fantastic in their own ways and I'd love a sequel.

I love axes since i can remember...

Loved Axew since i saw him (cmon its a fraking Axe dragon for gods sake O_O)

Figured like two weeks ago that i would do a Hexaperfect IVs male/mold breaker Axew to be my partner in the next pokemon game that would come.

Got two hexeperfect Axew, only thing, they were females...

one week breeding; i got a shiny Axew. Only problem, he wasnt hexa perfect...

Still got 31/31/31/xx/31/31.. who needs spattk on a Axew anyways...

Fucker is Adamant and has iron tail and night slash as egg moves...

He is my fist ever legit Shiny pokemon and in so fucking proud of it. Named he "Armads" and i wont touch him until i get my copy of omega ruby (btw, hoenn is my favorite game of the series; and i saterd with red when it came out. Old fag reporting in)... Will box starter, get Axew and never looke back O_O...

The only thing that would make me a complete man, would be that he gets a mega and is Steel/dragon type; which are my two favorite types...OMG guys, hold me. Cant stop the hype...Also, congrats too all of u that got the shiny bro u desired as me....

I don't much like Hoenn outside of two things that I think have yet to be topped in Pokemon.

Firstly is exclusive to Sapphire, but its the storm that Kyogre causes with the lightning and shit. That was really atmospheric and nerv-wrecking.

Second is that town that's sort of hidden underwater, and you gotta' use dive and travel through underwater caverns to get to it. That shit was rad as fuck. Don't think reaching any other location in Pokemon has ever felt so satisfying. Shit, I had no idea I was even gonna' find a city, I felt like I had discovered Atlantis or something.

And I like that the region feels open and sort of untouched by humans, due to the lack of gates.

Aside from that, didn't much like Hoenn, but im not gonna' shit on it in /shw/

One thing I will say, this new Kyogre forme? Possibly best looking legendary ever. It's Giratina and Raikou tier.

Actually, amusingly enough, I've had what I'd call a nasty amount of luck with my situation. Just to get it out of the way, there was a time where I thought they'd stay in my phone for all eternity; shiny hunting was just a fun hobby I grew into. But I was able to transfer them all from a pesky save file, to a real cartridge, to 4th gen through Pal Park, to 5th gen, then to 6th with Bank. I have a full box in FR, but recently I wanted to look for dem legendary birds, so since I had already caught 'em in FR, I started a LG save. Then I figured if I'm starting a whole new game, might as well squeeze the most out of it. And here I am, still Snorlaxin'.

Yesterday I was wandering aimlessly about a ground Friend Safari, and thought "this will me my last encounter before I leave to hunt another shiny". Then I found a shiny Nincada (now a Ninjask and Shedinja).
I kind of feel bad for my sister since this will be my 5 or 6th XY shiny (the only shiny she has found was a Cubchoo in BW). Should I give them to her?

My picture is a little loophole-ish, because not only is it fictional, I don't even know where it is. It's just a busy market, probably with a gorgeous smell of cinnamon in the air, music playing, children laughing, and Pokémon having fun with their trainers.

some people say protect or fireblast, even psycho cut, but honestly even at 115 sp att with the mega I would rather not lose the little defense it has and it seems silly to sacrifice defense for a mon that for a swords dance set just so it can have 1 sp att move. Ive seen the argument that it checks a few steel types, but honestly a fire type would be a better check then a defensively weak mon with one non-stab move.

If you use Night Slash, go with Super Luck. Otherwise, Justified is good until it goes Mega. If this is in doubles, you can pair it up with something that knows Beat Up. Swords Dance probably wouldn't be necessary then.

I'm going jolly with my potential shiny as well. I already have a naive one (non-shiny) with fire blast, but that drop in spD just isn't worth it.

I'd also say Stone Edge probably isn't the best option because of that low accuracy. Absol is still pretty frail and can't take many hits, so it may screw you over if it misses.

I've been experimenting on showdown and usually run Sucker Punch/Play Rough/Night Slash/Aerial Ace. AA is kind of useless I guess, but I'm not sure what to replace it with because it can rarely survive setting up a swords dance.

I whole heartily disagree. The lore building was solid. It was the first time in years where the anime began to improve. The movies of the era are the best. The Events actually had plots. The character designs, bar a few meh' ones, were the best. Cynthia is STILL the best champion. Music was comfy. Region gave the best sense of adventure (Downside being one too many HM's, but I can deal)

I liked it quite a bit. Only region that I liked on the starters and had a hard time training, music was nice, interesting ways to get certain Pokémon (Munchlax in the trees, Drifloon on Fridays), pretty neat and diverse region, the Underground, Battle facilities, Cynthia.

Only real issue was too many legendaries, lackluster excuse for a Safari Zone and DP lacked Fire-types.

I agree with you that the music was great, but the entire region was pretty forgettable to me, along with a lot of the Pokemon.

Best champion will always be Gary/Green/Blue/Whatever to me.

the amount of HMs in genIV is ridicolous. It also doesn't help that almost all of them are useless.
My main complaint with DPPt is the slow gameplay and the pokemon choice. But that must be 'cause I only played Pearl.
