I don't think we'll be able to dress them up. It's definitely a great feature but Brendan and May aren't 'generic', their clothes and accessories give them personality.

Sprite art like Metal Slug or the old Street fighters with buckets of frames of animation, yes. Tiny, four-direction barely animated sprites where the animation is literally just the first frame flipped, no. Don't talk shit.

You're not thinking about the amount of art that's required for that though.

Sprite
>Front walk animation
>Side walk animation (can be flipped)
>Back walk animation

They had to do that for every single pokemon

Whereas 3D all the models are already created and rigged, all they have to do is make a measly walk animation 1 time which takes literally a few minutes and it can be rotated in any direction.

Even with the significantly larger amount of pokemon today than there were in HG/SS sprite art would take much longer to accomplish.

Again, your statements are stupid absolutes. It's like saying "dogs are bigger than cats." Depends on the dog and the cat.

The HG/SS walking sprites are so simple I could have made them. Making overworld 3D models would certainly be more taxing than making those. Now if, on the other hand, you mean just the animating portion, you might be somewhat closer to truth. But they wouldn't use the battle models for the overworld anyway.

That's not really important though.

I know that making a sprite is easier than making a model. I've done both. But I'm saying that animating a model is easier than animating a sprite. With models, you move their arms and legs independently and relatively easily. With sprites, you have to "draw" a whole new arm or leg in a new position for every frame of animation.

The Japs could have purposefully made everyone look like Japanese, but Japan has had a fascination with western culture for a while as well as light skin (not just them either, the Chinese and Koreans love having their skin bleached and surgery to look more Caucasian).

Well, the models are the same with different animations, I guess, and the cries seem to just be "remixes" of the normal ones using the same pattern every time, so basically it's mostly lots of work for the animators.

Saying a skull-faced ghost called Yomawaru might be the evolved form of a sunflower named Kimawari is as retarded as saying an ice cream cone called Vanillish might be the evolved form of a jellyfish called Frillish.
