They're being marketed the same as MMY and BW Kyurem were, so it's safe to say they're new formes ("Never before seen Pokemon")

I wouldn't call them megas just yet, because they're 6th gen and the stones would have to be patched into XY and we don't know if Game Freak is willing to do actual DLC patches, for the sake of compatibility
So they're more than likely new formes that would just show up as regular Kyogre/Groudon in XY. Because we know how lazy Game Freak are, the only patches they did so far were forced due to a bug and an exploit.

Yeah, things honestly seemed pretty tame from what I seen. I expected a lot more rage from johtoddlers, but I guess they're accepting there's going to be remakes each new handheld.

I have always encouraged remakes, and I know the covers are something more than upadted artwork. I just don't believe they are megas looking at those changes. They just don't look significant enough to be mega designs.

But, my point still stands. We see new artwork that isn't even full, so yeah we're going to assume they're new formes. It's too much of a change to assume it's a new artistic take, but it's not enough to be a mega.

Everything that Game Freak confirmed regarding these guys is on Serebii. MMY was a "new Pokemon," BW Kyurem were "new Pokemon," so yeah it's standard marketing. They want to build hype without telling us what they are.

Are you implying that they are not indeed Kyogre and Groudon?

Xerneas' alternate form is the exact same shape yet it's still a form. Deerling has the exact same design in different colors and it's still a form. Many Mega Evolutions barely change and they're still a different form. I wouldn't put it past them to have only glowy lines and count it as a form change. They've NEVER stylized a Pokemon this much just for box art.

Thing is, these look too tame for megas. Kang has a gimmick, but these guy's don't, so you'd think they'd get proper megas with a lot of changes

They're probably formes like Giratina/Kyurem/etc
