Movies 1-3 had wide releases, only 4/5 got small releases.

Mostly because Pokemon was falling out of style at that point, it's really a surprise that 3 had as big of a release as it ended up having.

Are you asking why they stopped airing Pokemon movies in American theaters?

They stopped making money, it's really that simple.

Pokemon: The First Movie - $85 million in America
Pokemon the Movie 2000 - $43 million in America
Pokemon 3: The Movie - $17 million in America
Pokemon 4Ever - $1.7 million in America
Pokemon Heroes - $746,000 in America (this only got a limited theater release and was the last one released in theaters)

They make much, much more on DVD and with theater attendance dropping that fucking fast they had no reason to keep paying for wide releases.

I was in 7th grade. By that time we were "too cool to Pokemon" since we were 13 but basically most of my friends saw it anyway for one reason or another whether we blamed our sister or mother or because there was nothing else. And we all had our Promo Mewtwo TCG promo.
