Anybody else notice the Kyogre that we all know and love doesn't have the "alpha" symbol on is face as the one on the tentative box art does?

Pretty clear it's Mega Kyogre, or at least a forme change. There's quite a few differences between the boxart and the official design.

They're introducing Not-Mega Evolutions to get around the continuity error of Hoenn having a bunch of Mega Evolutions Kalos doesn't have tons of years later when Mega Evolution is supposed to be exclusive to Kalos. Instead of a double helix and DNA motif, they have a Greek alphabet motif. There'll be twenty-four new Mega Evolutions like this, one for each letter, and the first two we know of are Alpha Kyogre and Omega Groudon.

It's gonna be called Advance Evolution.

Needs more form changes, I feel like since megas came out form changes have taken a back seat, even though they're a lot cooler because they're permanent

Sure we have different forms, like colored flowers or whatever, but like deoxys, giratina, kyurem, things like them.

The only time we really got significant form changes was during gen 4. Gen 5's only one was Kyurem, and Deoxys only changed form through trading in gen 3.

Gen 3: Castform, a legitimately cool way to do things, one that is underused. (He's definately on my ORAS team.)
Gen 5: Keldeo, Meloetta, Therian genies for legendary. Darmanitan and Sawsbuck for regulars. Save for sawsbuck they really had some cool forms that changed a lot, at least sawsbuck had major aesthetic changes.

Possibly forgettable, but when you remember them your mind is sent to a perfect place full of the best things, yes?

I only remember Therian forms because they're the only thing making genies look decent. Castform and his mechanic has been in my top ten since gen 3, I just wish he was better. I once had 3 castforms, all based around a single weather.
