An added aspect to the remake bundles has always been anti-piracy as well.
You could get a Rom of FR/LG, but you couldn't trade wirelessly or join chat rooms which were, at the time, unheard of on a portable console.
You could pirate HG/SS, but even if you went out and bought a pokewalker, you needed the IR port on the cartridge in order to transfer mons.
As much as I would love a pokewalker App, i think they WOULD go for something physical as the bonus for this set of games, if only to make it so people HAD to buy it to get the full effect.
