Gen 5 was the only time I ever did that. In Black 2, I swapped Oshuwatt for Paniward and never looked back. Bisharp carried me throughout the whole game.

I used 2 starters in Gen 5. The other I managed to get from the GTS making it my first first-time playthrough where I used more than 1 starter on the team.

Serperior sucks, too. Venusaur was only good for 3 generations before it got powercreeped.

They fixed that with M-venusaur, but bulbasaur is useful in game and snivy is way more useful than chikorita, especially gym-wise.

I picked Treecko as my first starter ever. I remember thinking it looked the toughest of all 3. It was female, which was also pretty neat.
Absolutely loved Grovyle, but I hated Sceptile so much I started a new game to pick another starter.

Damn. If M-Sceptile looks a little bit more like Grovyle, I'm going for it. If not, I'm not sure on who to choose.
