yeah I was hoping we'd at least get updated sugi art. When HG/SS was announced Pokemon Sunday/Smash/GetTV showed updated art of the starters

Even FOR pokemon get tv this reveal was pretty disappointing. Past reveals at least showed overworld gameplay.

the only reason HG/SS got new art was because gen 2 art was outdated as fuck

right now, all official art is the same style, so I don't know why you'd expect a change

They've done it anyway. With Emerald and Platinum they updated the starter art even though it was only a few years old. It's not that unfair to expect updated art for remakes.
