I hope to god they make a new one. And go back to the old method of having all/most of the Pokemon in the game. Gates was good but it got sickening seeing the same few Unova Pokemon over and over.

Not sure, I hadn't played Darkness in ages so I just downloaded Sky. I'm sure if you want to play them there's an AR code you can use to unlock all the special chapters.
My computer's pretty crap and it runs Sky properly so it's pretty easy to emulate.

Yes.
I fucking mean it.
I don't just mean that you get a little bit down, maybe frown a bit
I mean full on tears. At least, for me. Mostly, it comes from the endings, and they are incredibly tear worthy.

There are a lot of Leitmotifs that play through the game, and a lot of themes are remixed for different events and places/plot points.

Whoever did the music for this game really deserves a raise/credit. The music captures the feelings you need, from going on jolly adventures, to having your heart torn out.

That's the thing though with them coming back to life. At first I too thought it was a kind of cheaped out thing, but then you realize: the creator god, who couldn't even be bothered to prevent the collapse in the first place, was so emotionally moved by their heroism that he created an entire timeline to preserve them. He saw them go up against endless despair, gruesome death, and the complete destruction of them and their entire world, even to the point of fighting AND KILLING the primal embodiment of their timeline, and STILL coming out on top and having no regrets in their final moments.

I think the cheap cop outs with them coming back is that they pretty much had to. You can't just go having the main character that you worked hard to get to the end with just die and be gone forever in a game designed for a younger audience. If anything the cop outs are good because it kinda shows that they intended for the endings to be really sad, but leave the fact that they kind of have to come back for the very last second.

Also why the hell does these games have such good OSTs? All 3 of them have pieces that were just really good.

I don't know about that, man. The story in Gates had the potential to beat Explorers if only they had more time to make it and build in an actual postgame, and now they've got all the art assets from X&Y, the game engine from GTI, and 3 PMD games of experience for what gameplay elements do and don't work. I think the next PMD game stands a very real chance at matching if not beating PMD2.

Well if they wanted to go with Gen VI only then scatterbug is the sole choice. But I don't think they hate us quite that much, so Nincada could be a solid choice. Gives two options for evolution, has ground type as a secondary so it isn't completely useless, and while its moveset could use some work, nearly every pokemon in the PMD games has a modified moveset.

On the other hand though, bug is just one of the many types that have never gotten a corresponding starter. What about ice, dark, and now fairy?
