Battle Frontier was just one big filler season to fill the void between Hoenn and Sinnoh while promoting Diamond and Pearl's imminent release.

Doubt it. The most I think can happen is May and Wallace coming back for a Wallace Cup or Brandon and the Battle Pyramid coming and Clemont blowing a load over a flying pyramid.

It's going to depend entirely on how long the XY anime lasts. While Ash returned to Kanto after Hoenn for FRLG, Sinnoh didn't have a full Johto arc for HGSS because it went on so long. Instead there were just those couple episodes with Lyra.
