While I do like X/Y, I did have a few issues. Namely:
>Lack of endgame. B/W had this issue too, but even that had a few areas that were exclusive to after the end of the game. This one had like one or two locations and that is it.
>Lack of any proper evolutions for Pokemon and instead focusing on Megas fully. Mega Mawile, Absol, Aerodactyl, Banette, Manectric Heracross, Pinsir, Houndoom, and Medicham should have been normal evolutions.
>Fairy type was a decent addition (Especially for all the crappy Fighting pokemon Gen V introduced), but feels like Gen 2 where there is way too many limited options and not enough balance in the type yet.
>The actual new Pokemon that were in the game were pretty blah. There is a couple of decent ones, but a staggering amount of useless crap. In comparison, Gen V had a fair amount of decent Pokemon from the get-go.
>GTS is better then it was in Gen IV and V, but still needs work. Why are fateful encounter Pokemon selectable as a request, but you will not allow the trades anyway? All it does it gunk up the GTS with impossible to fill Pokemon. Also, why can't we see the moves and the info of the Pokemon to see if they are fake or not?
>Stupid limit on online matches still. Why can't we do a full on 6-on-6 with lv 100 Pokemon if we want to? Why do I still need a person's friends code to do that? It just feels limiting in general.
>Main game was weak. Rivals were crap, and while there were a good moments with Team Flare here and there, it never got to awesome levels like Team Galactic in Platinum or Team Plasma in BW. Gym Leaders were also forgettable, and the Elite Four is next to useless (Also hate the champion). I do like the Pokemon variety though.
>Visuals are hit or miss. Some of the Pokemon look great, but many still need work (Flying Pokemon and Eelektross animations, certain Pokemon appearing too far away and looking low resolution and textures). I think it will get fixed in time, and I am willing to let it pass.
