The obsession over wanting this small feature to return really shows how autistic the pokemon fanbase can be at times. It's neat and all but seeing people have it as #1 on their wishlist for OR/AS is retarded. Aren't you on your bike 95% of time anyway?

Call my autistic if you want, but small things like that made the game just so much better. Amie does fill the void though. I mean walking and talking with my pokemon was nice and call, but now i can truly interact with them. So i won't be too miffed if following Pokemon don't return, so long as amie sticks around.

I want following Move Tutors or following IV Checkers. Being able to learn new moves or check IVs after hatching eggs would be a much better benefit than following Pokemon.

Don't you remember wishing that pokemon all the time when you were little? It's in the same vein that people like being able to interact with their in-game pokemon in more ways than just battling. It's all about immersion.

The anime ruined the concept for me. I don't want an annoying mascot who's out of its pokeball all the time.

Also for me it gives LESS immersion because almost every other trainer in the damn game has no Pokemon following them. It makes my character feel out of place.

Walking Pokemon don't take anything away from you now do they? They go in the same category with Secret Bases, Amie, and stuff like that: it's not necessary, but it's fun, and that's why people like it. If it's not for you, just ignore it.

Well, maybe the feature would be more memorable if they put more time into it. If they bring back pokemon following you but its the same as HG/SS then i'll be dissappointed. The little feature of the pokemon emoticon faces and picking up knick knacks was fine, but they really need to expand on it;

-Being able to have any pokemon in your party following you (not just the lead)

-being able to turn the feature off alltogether

Being able to automatically activate HM related obstacles as long as the pokemon following you has the HM

maybe some sort of minigame park where you can walk around as the pokemon and the trainer follows you

I liked it, but I do wish there was an option to turn it on and off at will. It's kind of annoying that I have no choice over the first Pokemon in my party being in its ball or not while I'm walking. Since when can a trainer not choose to recall their Pokemon at will? Ruined it a bit for me.

I've always said, amie would be 10x better if it was there together with following pokemon instead of a separate menu.
You just turn around, talk to your pokemon, and the game opens. Also it's not in that shitty rainbow room, it's just wherever you stopped to play.
