Sure, this meant level scaling was a little wonkier, but it was ambitious for its time, and I still prefer it over linear regions with "better" level scaling.
To add to that, I think the Level Scaling issue n Johto is overblown, and not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, but I know im beating a dead horse here, nobody gives a shit.
