Then you're doing it right. Smogon sets were never meant to be copypasted, they're supposed to be expanded upon based on your team's needs.

Pretty much this. Smogon is actually a great reference site to get a idea for a build for a Pokemon (Still good to do your own moves and ideas though), but I ignore the tier bullshit most of the time.

Smogon was basically reliable but they should've just banned Politoed last gen instead of banning everything that could abuse it, and this gen is basically gonna be "ban anything I don't like playing against" once BP teams get banned
