Do you think we will eventually get another set of gen 1 remakes? I mean, FR/LG are GBA games and most DSs don't have the GBA slot, and FR/LG didn't even have the physical/special split.

Or do you think gamefreak is fine with HG/SS serving as a gen 1 replacement? I mean all the legendaries in gen 1 can be caught in HG/SS, and hell even the entire Kanto region is in HG/SS.

Not for a long time, the only reason for them to do so now is to revisit the region and considering you can revisit them in HG/SS I wouldn't expect them any time soon.

Honestly I'm surprised even gen3 got remade.

1&2 weren't compatible with newer games and people's batteries were dead, so it made sense, but everything afterward plays fine and can link to the newer games.

You can still find GBA games in a lot of stores, at least here in Japan. Want to play Pokemon Ruby? Then go grab it on ebay for $10 or so.

You have checked ebay in the last few years right?
RSE carts are at least $50 or so and even then you have no idea if they're real or not.

I understand what you're saying but they could've just released it on eShop with Bank compatibility or something to give people easier access to it. I enjoyed gen3 quite a lot but I just don't see the point in remaking it.

It's different with gen1 and 2, especially gen1. Gen1 was black and white, the battery had long since died and it couldn't link to the newer games. It's pretty easy to see what a remake could do for it.

Gen3 still holds up, you can still play it today and it looks good and links to the newer games. A gen3 remake is like a Halo anniversary remake, there's no guarantee it will really be any better.

X&Y are the worst selling Pokemon games to date so they made AS/OR to break even. While they're at it, a Red/Blue/Green remake in complete 3D will sell like hotcakes easily.

X&Y has sold 11 million
AS/OR will hover around the 5-6 million mark, 7 at best

Gen 3 is what slumped sales, not Gen 2.
The fact that you couldn't transfer your Pokemon, and that a lot of those Pokemon weren't even catchable in game pushed many fans away from the series. Most RBY fans loved GSC.
