When I'm doing a playthrough, I decide my team beforehand to help with balancing and such. It also helps so you can skip trainers that you'll need to save for the new Pokes later.

Everytime a new generation come out, I restrict myself to using the new Pokemon / forms / Megas the generation introduces.

If these games introduce new Megas, I'll have a six Mega team because it's either that or I'm playing the same shitty game as before. If they don't introduce anything worthwhile, I'll plow through the game with M-Gengar and unlock post-game asap.

They better introduce something good.

I really don't want to be planning my team so early yet here I am. And I'm just remembering how great some of the Gen III Pokemon were.

One problem I'm facing is I don't know what I'm gonna do for my first captured Pokemon, since I always like to use the first Pokemon I capture for the entire game, and there's not a lot of good early-game stuff.

Also I think I might go for a music motif in nicknames. Maybe.

Got myself a shiny Wingull in Y, gonna trade 'im over and use a badass green pelican. I was debating between him or Sharpedo, but it's not every day you get to use a shiny poke in-game, hoenn native too. I want to use Relicanth for being one of ym favorite pokes ever, but it's obtained too late in the game, and as a surfing pokemon it isn't very good. Who knows though, I got 6 months to finalize
