Those are quite average. I like that EX's aren't that interesting anymore.

That's pretty cool (in regards to luc-EX). it seems like an interesting utility mon for getting them draws.

Though I don't like the idea of EXs just becoming average and bland. They don't need to be meh, the just need to get a different design space than stage 2s.

I want your opinions of my plans for playing the TCG. I just came back and posted before about my scene being pretty dead, is it a decent idea to basically exclusively play Online, then for events like Cities, Nationals, etc. play IRL? I don't know what playing in a league does for you these days, but I assume the best practice I can get with different decks is on the online game, and build what I really enjoy playing IRL?

Mt only problems are the same as yours. The nearest place is a three hour drive and only people in town that play are my brother and two friends. Metas change over time, could be like 60% Ylveltal, would be same % of Yveltal and Plasma, you never know. With tournaments like Nationals, there is such a big pool, you probably won't play the same deck more than once.

Those are some pretty good cards. And it looks like Lucario EX can OHKO Darkrai EX with a 2nd turn Strong Energy, Fighting Stadium, and Muscle Band.

I wish we got a better shot of Hawlucha EX, but it looks like it might not be a part of the main set.

Ugh, I really don't like having a combination of Strong Energy, Muscle Band, Fighting Stadium and even HTL in the same format. You shouldn't be able to boost attacks like Landorus' Hammerhead this much. All of the cards are very nice individually, I just don't like having them all available together.

Korrina is the best thing revealed though. It also pretty much replaces Skyla post rotation, even if your deck doesn't play [F] 'mons.

Also, hammerhead getting the boost isn't as bad as implied. I mean yeah, for each it gets to deal 20 more damage, but it's only 20 more damage to each active, and really, you should be having an issue with base Hammerhead anyways (seeing as it's a 60 damage attack for 1 energy)

So guys, what Charizard EX is better?

Stoke one is clearly shit, but I'm torn between Promo and Starter Deck Charizard. In theory, the Starter deck one is better, because it doesn't have a self-damaging attack, and the first attack of the Promo one is garbage because then you have to waste two turns getting your M-Charizard Y (nobody is going to be using M-Charizard X, let's be serious here) out instead of just one. However, the second attack isn't as bad as it would seem, since if you're running M-Charizard Y, you're probably already going to be running Protection Cube, and since your Charizard EX is hopefully going to be Mega Evolving into M-Charizard Y anyway, it's not like it's a waste to throw it on him early in case he needs to go out there and kick ass in the meantime. But at the same time, the Starter Deck Charizard EX manages to only average 30 less damage after two turns, but he can do so without having to have a Protection cube glued on him, and he can still do so even if his cube gets knocked off.

Eh i run 3 ultras in my dark deck and I've yet to need any more. I use a slightly modified version of Israel Sosa's one, which also has 3 utlras. Unless i start getting a bad luck streak with those balls... i think I'll keep it like this.

Stoke seems pretty good as a first active. Get that energy going right from the start.

Combustion blast is clearly shit. Cooldowns are not cool.

Mega ascension is pretty good if you go with the one that does 50dmg to itself and have the protection cube, but not sure how easy that is to set up.

With Charizard-EX, the cooldown for Combustion Blast isn't all that bad, purely because you can have an evosoda ready and Mega him on the next turn.

And they're not really all that hard to set up, with the fire support in Flashfire. Blacksmith means you can do 3 fire energy in a turn, provided you have 2 in the discard.

The Combustion Blast one is the only one that can be somewhat playable. 150 damage is over 120 is what makes the difference as it can take OHKOes on EX's, something the other two can't do. The attack's side effect can be avoided by switching to a different Charizard, switching to a zero retreat Pokémon and then retreating to Charizard, by using Keldeo+Float Stone, etc.

If you're playing the Mega one, it's a different story. But unless Mega 'mons become big, you shouldn't play the Mega one anyway.

Korrina searches for a Pokémon too, you really don't need more that 4 Ultra Ball in such a deck, maybe even less. But Groudon EX, Terrakion EX, etc will be most likely gone soon after Furious Fists is released.

The CB gives you 150+60=210dmg in two turns, the FB gives you 120+120=240 and keeping energy topped off is easier imo than getting it up there in the first place, which stoke does for you, albeit on some chance, but it's still 50% more chance than the other zard.

If you're investing 4 energy and probably a non-draw Suppoerter to power up your attacker, you're going for OHKOs, 120 is not enough. 150+Muscle Band takes down 170 HP EX's. The only notable EX's that aren't KO'd are Darkrai which isn't used as an attacker that much anymore and Black Kyurem and Lugia which is why Druddigon and Raichu are the backup attackers of choice in Charizard decks. Even that way, you can run HTL without even needing Virbank to go for 180 with Charizard. I'm not saying the deck is great, it's quite inconsistent since you're running off Item based draw with Torch and Running Shoes/Bicycle, but the CB Charizard is definitely far better than the other two.

You're still counting on too many cards to get that supposed OHKO off, imo, and that's assuming you can power it as quickly as the stokezard at the same time.
If you get your Fire blast a turn earlier, you still kill the same target at the same turn, and that's far from the worst-case scenario for the CBzard.
If you get lucky with CBzard you OHKA the enemy EX on turn 3.
If you get lucky with stokezard you have a fully powered megazard on turn 3.

You do need to reach a 200 total to down an Yveltal-EX, because of the resistance. So on Lucario-EX you need 5 out of 6 cards you mentioned. Even the mega still needs 3, though that's fairly doable and the energy discard helps with return fire and 220 dmg is a lot to generate, even on Yveltal-EX.

The list is actually pretty good. Before making any changes, I'd suggest playing a few games to find what it struggles against and change cards accordingly. You could add one or two Water Energy so that Milotic can attack and hit for weakness against Pyroar, Charizard EX, Delphox and Emboar.

Well, there is Accelgor + Gothitelle/Trevenant (which locks your opponent out of using Item cards), but there are a few problems with those decks

- Tropical Beach are ludicrously expensive and you need multiples
- Accelgor will be rotated out after this format unless TPCi decides to troll us with no rotation
- If you don't set up fast enough your opponent will usually roll you

You use Fairy Trans to move around rainbow energies, allowing you to toolbox any EXs you want. They tech RayquazaEX/CobalionEX/LatiasEX/GiratinaEX as a shredder to deal with mons like that.

I've been trading nice profits of FF packs...

started with some older boosters and have ended with 20 FF packs and a deck worth another 30 on a conservative estimate.

But given that I already have the deck complete... what the hell should I even do with my profits? Get more profits? trading is kinda fun in its own right, after all.

Nope, it supplies Water/Lightning/Fighting/Metal Energy. But yes, they do run Prism Energy (and in some rare cases, Rainbow Energy).

And don;t forget that other Plasma builds run G-Booster and Genesect EX.

I run this but I have a 1-0-1 Kingdra line too. it really helps late game when you're running low on resources. The most important thing I've found whilst running this is the speed. You NEED a Greninja by T2 to start doing damage, and that isn't always possible. I run 4 Sycamore/4 Shauna and 2 N + 2 Skyla. It helps but the Sycamores can be very brutal at times.

Use Keldeo EX instead of Enhanced Hammer. You need Keldeo+Float Stone to keep using Blizzard Burn. I'm also not a fan of Rayquaza in a deck where you can't pull off Shred out of nowhere but Plasma doesn't have many options to counter Pyroar so I don't know.

I tried on PTCGO a few times and while it has a hard time against pretty much all the top decks, it's definitely fun to play. Having to calculate how many Shurikens you need for certain KOs is better than lolEvilBall and lolBlackBallista.

But yeh, I just straight replaced them with surprise megaphone and dropped 1 n for second colress along with a couple skylas for shaunas (mostly because n seems overkill at 4, and I'd prefer not to use too many skylas either if it's going to rotate out)

Neither Garbodor nor Pyroar really walls that due to cobalion EX, though. Also, I feel like his deck is missing some important tech mons, like SkarmEX for removing tools, Virizion for status scrubbing, and either fairy gardens or darkrai for free switching.

It's pretty consistent (outside of cards I need to replace with proper counterparts that klang that isn't 3 retreat) And it's a nice stall toolbox. Note that half your pokemon can be searched by level ball, 1/3 of them can be searched by heavy ball, and 1/3 of them can be searched by evosoda.

Ultra ball lets you grab the stuff you can't grab in any of those ways or when you lack the proper balls, and it's really important for consistency.

Regular cobalion isn't necessary, 2-2-2 line for klinklang is really the optimal way

Rare candy isn't that great, you'd benefit more from evosoda overall consistency wise

Your trainer lineup doesn't maximize the utility of fairytrans either, and you'd probably be better with 4 professors in your supporter lineup as well as 1 less stadium and getting some form of ace spec in there.

Basically, as I had said, Between CobalionEX, SkarmoryEX and RegisteelEX, you really cover pretty much all of your bases.

The problem is that what he does, YveltalEX would do better. He's not going to reach levels of damage suffient to stop things properly that way.

Further, his second attack, Iron Breaker, while seemingly good, ends up not being as good as it could be unless your opponent hasn't set up a second beatstick and isn't running float-Keldeo.

Things like skarm EX do better because skarm is a portable tool scrapper that has the 120 damage attack enabled by Registeel, Registeel lets you blast through your opponent's bench to get rid of benched threats and support mons, and support mons like Virizion which let you hose things like HTL.

Something like a singular tech'd cobalion would be interesting to use though as it could let you lock someone who has an improper setup, or if Float-Keldeo and other free switch strategies become less common.

M-Lucario EX looks pretty viable for a deck. 3 for 140 and discarding an energy could be pretty good, and it counters the M-Kangaskhan/Aromatisse deck, and deals nicely with Thundurus. Mewtwo will be a problem, though.

Could work well with the Machamp from Plasma Blast, the one with Badge of Discipline. Could fly right through stuff like Lugia EX with a few Strong Energies / Muscle Band.

Well, there's a reason I didn't add Lysandre, I find it redundant with Red Signal. Shadow Triad gives you a way to recover G Booster or maybe a Plasma Energy for a game winning Red Signal. It's pretty useful to have around.

The Xerneas deck gives you a solid base for an Aromatisse deck. The Volcarona one comes with a Blastoise, a Suicune and an Ultra Ball. Decide what you're after and buy accordingly.

Gonna go pick up some code cards (most likely) but would anyone have a good water deck to run? I used to run a Blastoise deck many years ago (like, think Base Set Blastoise + Dark Blastoise, ancient I know.) Is there some variety of that I might still be able to run? The only reason this card is dumb is because it's just strictly worse than other supporters.

If it was 'If your opponent guessed right, draw two cards. If your opponent guessed wrong, you draw 5 cards.' then it would be way mroe viable.
