He still said that evs didnt exist until nintendo finally added them into xy, but they gave them the name super training. There was no way to ev train your pokemon in the generations beforehand. No fighting moves. We asked about it. "MEGA PUNCH IS STRONGER" but what about stab? "WHATS STAB?" same type attack bonus, man. thats what it is. "OH. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?" ..... It means that moves that are the same type as the pokemon get a boost. "NO THEY DONT". We usually had to explain concepts 3 or 4 times before he decided if he agreed with them or not. even facts like stab and evs.

He was dead fuckin serious every time. I can agree with aggron losing to a hitmonchan, because lol4xweak2fighting but not with a garchomp losing simply because hitmonchan happens to have ice punch. Yes its 4x weak still, but chomp is faster and hits harder, as well as ice punch being unboosted by anything except iron fist. He made everyone in our group legitimately mad.

The first thing i remember was that he had a 200+ card deck. I counted. the second thing was he misused a spell card. Did pretty much the exact opposite of that it actually did. I tink it was gryphons feather duster. When explained how it actually works, he was shocked. "UUUUUHH.... THEN I DEACTIVATE IT." okay he just set the card back where it was beforehand. Through the years there were times when i would inflict over 10,000 points of damage in a single turn. But he would never admit he lost. "I STILL HAVE POINTS LEFT" became a running joke amongst all of us. his favorite card EVAR, the yugioh equivalent of hitmonchan, was witty phantom. He refused to take it out of his deck. One time we switched decks so that i could prove to him that not only was his deck bad, but that he was a worse player than i was. of course i was wrong in his eyes, so he agreed. I played witty phantom and he refused to attack for 5 turns straight simply because he didnt want to kill his favorite monster. I won that duel.

I saved the money to finally buy the cards i needed to finish the gusto deck I use online. i heard about pendulum summoning and decided against buying it. I heard about 2 card otks.
I already lost in a tourney first round before, i'm not going to let that happen again, especially if something THAT op can be pulled off so easily.
