I want my team to have one Poison-type tank, so it can both use Toxic without a chance of missing, and be immune to an opponent's Toxic. My team is being made for VGC 2014, so it needs to be Kalos native and doubles-friendly. I'm considering this guy because he also gets Stockpile, but he just doesn't feel right. Advice? Recommend a different Pokemon for this role?

Weezing, if you don't want power and just a tank some stock-piles and rest and this guy can tank for days, his levitate is also a very nice bonus.

probably 12-14 turns so that's like 3 turn per Pokemon. Also safe guard are not that uncommon in VGC (because people spam Spore and Dark Void).

Because honestly, immunity to Toxic is secondary to the fact that Toxic skips the accuracy check if the user is Poison-type. I just wanted a wall that wouldn't miss with Toxic, even in the face of Veil or Minimize.

If you are looking for a Kalos native, then you can have a Venusaur. It has a nice mega and it can do what you want and more.

It's Gen VI new mechanic. Toxic will never miss (can even hit flying Pokemon and stuff) when use by Poison type.

Kalos native means that Pokemon is in one of the three Kalos pokedex. Muk, Weezing and their pre-evolutions aren't Kalos native even though Muk is in friend safari (friend safari Pokemon are Kalos native only if they appear on a route in addition to the safari.)

It's a shit mechanic too. What they should have done is allowed regular poison to become badly poisoned when used by a poison type mon.

Nearly everyone and their brother can learn toxic and the same amount can learn earthquake.

Venusaur or Amoongus is a good choice.
Venusaur is tankier and got more attack but Amoongus is a better support with Rage Powder.

Any Poison type that is not weak to Earthquake is a pretty good choice.

That's an interesting idea but won't work that well, I mean.. most move that do regular poison has only 30% chance of poisoning. Way too unreliable.

I think making Badly Poison for poison type start at 1/8 or something might be better.

Considering that it is much easier to run a team with no poison mons and potentially sidestep an issue with being OHKO'd with Poison mons, then you see less usefulness with poison types in general.

My idea would actually help poison mons see a bit more usefulness. For example Muk's poison touch is nice and all, and with access to Shadow Sneak he could damage and toxic someone before anything happened. Sure there is a flat chance of it happening, but it gives more umph to his attack and helps turn poison types into glass cannons, instead of just glass, as GameFreak would have it.

Looks cool as shit, has STAB over Fairy and not weak to it.

EV trained it can have pretty great SpDefense and SpAttack. It's speed is the limiter, however trick room teams might make use of it.

It's not great, but I love it.

Not that anon, but I use two kind of Dragalge that I love. First as a special attacker, 252 to HP & SP. Atk. Draco Meteor, Sludge Bomb,ThunderBolt & Focus Blast with Assault Vest.
Second set it's a deffesive one: 252 hp, 252 sp. Def. Acid Armor, Dragon Tail, Sludge Bomb & Scald, this one I love for the ones who set up. Also with black sludge

In addition to Amoonguss and Venusaur some anons alrwady suggested, Crobat is also a rather neat choice for a Poison type in doubles. Myriad of support moves, great speed, and Inner Focus preventing it from being flinched by Fake Out are only some of it's pros.

But just as >>19228336 anon said, Toxic isnt that good in the metagame where you'll be getting smacked in the face 24/7 by Kangaskhan's Double Edges and Mence's Draco Meteors. It's unlikely you will ever see Poison kill 1 Pokemon before the match ends.
