Gameplay isn't entirely simpler. There's a team attack button which is pretty much press to win, but it can only be used every 4-6 floors or so. You also can share EXP with pokemon left back home at paradise, effectively removing the need to grind for levels to make non player/partner pokemon usable. You can also level up your individual moves, which while it reduces the need to change your movesets also allows for more specialization since you can make just about any move in the game viable at high levels if you give it enough power manuals. You also get to develop your own home base, paradise, so you decide what facilities will be available to you. They removed hunger in all but a few post-game dungeons, but honestly I think that's a good thing since all hunger meant was that you'd reserve a certain amount of space for apples and if RNG gave you none then you're just shit out of luck.
