On topic: Being able to catch a Ralts on the third Route of the game in the originals was already OP as fuck, adding Fairy-typing to that is like adding a cup of orange juice into a vat of hydrochloric acid.

FR/LG added Sevii Islands

HG/SS had the Kanto Post-Game + Crystals Suicune Sub-plot, new Safari Zone, Post-Red Post Game where you can catch the Hoenn Weather Trio, and a bunch of other stuff.

So... What this time? What is going to be in OR/AS that WASN'T in Ruby or Sapphire?

Better be a lot, let's face it, R/S were the shortest games to date. I'f we're going by most recent game of a Gen, then Pt, HG/SS, FR/LG, B2/W2 and even X/Y are bigger than Ruby/Sapphire, so they better be making one hell of a Post-Game to pad out the game

I dont care about staying faithful to the originals, there are some things that should be changed, and what you just said is one of them.

The other big one is a more diverse Regional Dex, Hoenn has by far the worst one. Dont care if it means adding in Pokemon from newer Gens, fuck the endless seas of Tentacools and Wingull.

Kind of on the topic of this, something I've always been curious about: Was it actually possible to complete the National Dex in the Hoenn games?

I know all of the classic Kanto and some of the Johto Pokémon were obtainable through trade from FR/LG, but there must have been some that just weren't possible to get.

You can catch all pokemon and complete the National Dexes of the 5 GBA games by themselves with lots trading between them, besides Mew, Ho-oh, Lugia, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys. That is, unless you got them at an event, or the event items. Nowadays, your only hope is to use an Action Replay. It's fun to go to those secret even islands and catch the legendaries. I miss when the games had that. Last one if I remember correctly was Victini in B/W. Hopefully they keep those Gen III even islands in the remakes. And if speculation is correct, Volcanion will be in the Kalos desert's locked Power Plant.

They did it with Fire Emblem Awakening(but that was a T game, but probably for other reasons), Nintendo knows waifus sell. And I hate the fact that they throw Shauna at you, she is easily one of the most annoying characters in any Pokemon game I've ever played. I just restarted X so I can fight Hex Maniacs again and already Shauna is getting on my nerves, and I'm barely at the first gym. Anyway, with ORAS, if they do add a dating-sim feature for some reason, they better do it right. Maybe make one out of every trainer class a Misty-esque character that you travel with or something, or they help you out every now and then. Or do it like they did with those movies starts in BW

RSE don't die like RBY/GSC do. The battery does die, but that doesn't affect the game, only the Real Time Clock.

You can still play it, but time will be frozen until you replace the battery or just forever if you don't replace it.

That was the thing. The Heavy Rain theme was great, but with the world plunged into impending doom, Drought did a better job of making you feel like something was wrong. Really really wrong. Heavy Rain was just a cool tune.

Anyone else worried that physical/special split might in fact have a negative impact on Hoenn starters? Mudkip line in particular gets fucked over hard, now that most of it's level up moves that used to be physical (Mud Slap, Mud Shot) are special, and it doesn't get anything else of note until Earthquake on lv 53 and Waterfall HM, which is given to you after the last Gym.

Treecko line also isnt too happy with it's "signature" attack Leaf Blade being changed to a physical move, and STILL no Grass attacks of over 20 BP until lv.29.

I don't know, unless they modify their level ups considerably and give them Megas we might be in for another round of Blaziken cock riding.

I didn't use Hoenn starters in any of my playthroughs in gen 4 and 5, so yea I only noticed this now. This makes me sad because my favourite starter of all time went from being the best of the 3 to the worst of the 3 in just 1 gen.
