I remember this fat fucker Lewis Shealy, my Gary, said he had a pikablu, but he wouldn't show it to me.

Anyway, this chickenshit kid I befriended at camp renegade(an afterschool or summer program in which the kids went on field trips literally everyday to places like TY waterpark, or galaxy skateway in buses) named Justin always had halitosis, and he couldn't understand why our female peers avoided him.
He let me "borrow" his Treecko plush on the bus, which I never returned to him.
I remember calling him an Indian Giver for wanting it back.

Actually, camp renegade was loaded with Hoenn-related pokenostalgia. I've got other stories if anyone has the time.

I don't have many more of those, but I can tell you I've gotten numerous handheld vidyas stolen at galaxy skateway, where the dirty little dumpsterwater children made a living. We went to Galaxy skateway every Friday afternoon. It sucked major shit.
Anyway, I remember being friends with this kid who let me borrow his gameboy advance when my GBA sp was low on battery- sort of.
He played FireRed himself, but I don't think I cared at the time because I just wanted progress to be made, which almost happened. I got him to catch me a shiny Nidoran(m) before he told me his mom was calling him and he had to go.
Before he shut off his GBA, I asked him to save. He told me he didn't have time and promptly flicked the off switch. I decided it didn't really matter to me at the time because I wasn't a fan of Nidoran.

In high school (yes that's right, high school) my friend told me that he heard if you breed a Deoxys with Ditto, you would get an egg that contained a random Pokemon. He was just as uninformed as I was, and he said it was a rumor he saw on the internet and really needed to test it out. We didn't know about Pokegen back then, so we were scouring the GTS trying to get something. Eventually he found someone IRL that had a bunch of event legends for our dexes, and we debunked the Deoxys rumor. Heh.

IDK if I ever tried it or not but it was plausible to my small brain. THE ROCK WAS WHITE IT HAD TO BE DIFFERENT.

Back when I was in middle school during the Gen III era, there were a lot of bullshit rumors I fell for.

One I remember was that you could get the Mossdeep space center's rocket to take off, and if you get on it you could go to the moon and catch Jirachi and Deoxys. In order to do that you had to beat the E4 125 times. I had dedication to go to the moon so I spent hours for weeks beating the E4 until I hit 125.

Once I realized it was all bull, I became more aware that people lied on the Internet. Still fell for some other pokemon rumors though.

Remember the popular rumor of the alleged "Celebi glitch" that there was a chance you'd find a wild Celebi on Route 123? It was said to be rarer than a shiny pokemon. I hadn't encountered any shinies at the time, but I wanted Celebi bad, so I spent about a week just walking in the grass on Route 123 for hours at night hoping to find Celebi. I gave up figuring it was bull also. It was.

Another one I remember was Latiosa. They said if you put both Latis in the daycare with each holding a special item(or something like that, I can't remember), they will breed an egg that hatches Latiosa. Then if you'd breed Latiosa with Rayquaza, you'd get Rayquaziosa.

I think we'd all love it if Game Freak were to set up Event legend encounters triggered by performing the steps that triggered various glitches in Gen I. They'd obviously be intentionally programmed encounters, like the Regi sequence, but with no hints whatsoever. Stumbling upon those eldritch mysteries by mistake must've been the greatest feeling in the world.

Kind of weird to think that Mega Pokemon are pretty damn close to what the Pokegods were, and even similar Pokemon mentioned in the fake Pokegod codes now have Mega Evolves.

The ones I remember the most were:
-The grass outside of Pallet Town (In the out of bounds area) has Pokegods.
-Beat the Elite Four 100 times and you can do...something. I think Pokegod related.
-Mist stone in Seafoam Island to evolve either Mew or Eevee (don't remember)
-You can find a secret area in the Safari Zone to find Pikablu and Togepi.
-Talk to the sailor that tells you the S.S. Anne has left and he will let you get back on the ship and thus allow you to move the truck for Mew.
-Shitton of fake Gameshark codes.

I picked Totodile as my starter, and i eventually made it to the elite 4, but i kept losing to them. I was friends with a kid about 2 years older than me, and he told me that due to a glitch in the game's code, it was literally impossible to beat the Elite 4 if you picked Totodle. And i believed him, and started my game over.
