Because we all know that Ganondorf is the best character in Brawl, right?

Rock Smash telegraphs itself too much, giving the opponent ample time to backstep and retaliate before Charizard can even move again.

Nice of Sakurai to homage Melee's Pichu with Charizard.

I hate that kind of stuff. You don't see Samus taking damage when charging or using her blaster. Or Link taking damage when someone blocks his swords attacks. Why have an attack that ends up damaging your character?

Unlike Pichu it only recoils on one move, and also unlike Pichu Flare Blitz looks like it does a lot of damage and knockback. Charizard can also handle a little recoil much better than Pichu.

As for why, it's a character-differentiating gimmick and a nod to the source material.

All of Pichus attacks hurt it even if it didn't connect.

Presumably the power of Flare Blitz would make up for the fact that you get damaged slightly. Plus, we've had at least two other attacks in the series that damage your character anyway (Ike and Roy's neutral B), but the payoff was that if it hit, it was devastating.

Its not gonna be a weak, simple attack like Pichu's. It'll be a high-risk, high-damage-output move with a drawback, like Ike's Eruption, or Dedede's Jet Hammer. Possibly even more powerful, since you can't charge it just enough and avoid the recoil like with the others. Then again it has more range, but so does Diddy's Pop Gun.

His Up B hasn't been confirmed, I hope it has more range and potentially loses the flame animation so it doesn't look like upward Flare Blitz.

It should be Seismic Toss like the Anime.

Basically Metaknights up special but it picks up someone at the start and goes into a flip and glide (if the mechanic returns).

It would through them down like a spike at the peak of the jump.

Flare Blitz knocks the fuck out of Mac and Diddy there. The recoil isn't the issue, it's how fast the move can be triggered.

No, it really doesn't. Charizard spins when using Fly, he doesn't spin with Flare Blitz. Fly also has rings of fire, not a massive tear-shaped ball of fire. Fly goes through opponents, FB stops when it hits someone. Fly does multi-hits. FB does one hit.

Down B - Blast Burn

Slams the ground if you're standing creating an explosion of fire around you, drops to the ground before slamming it if you're in the air like Kirby's stone drop

To be fair, it was removed in Pit. The phrasing didn't fully address if it was just removed from Pit, or the game itself.

Fly is fine, I think it'd be better if it worked more like Fire Fox

Moves like Dragon Slash can be substituted as A moves.

Flare Blitz is pretty great though
