In 3rd gen, it became the star of my Emerald solo run, and - digital Stockholm Syndrome aside - made me much more fond of it.
4th gen is what really solidified it for me, being the generation I started getting competitive with Pokemon; Platinum blessed Scizor with Bullet Punch/Superpower, making it an OU behemoth. 4th gen also gave us Johto remakes, letting me relive my favorite region while also doing a solo run with Scizor.
5th gen boosted Scizor's survival rate by being able to easily fit into any rain team I made.
6th gen gave it a bump to what roles it could fill, with access to items like Red Card and Assault Vest, giving me a partially valid reason for including him on most of my teams.
