The Kanto League was shit, but at least Ritchie was a competent trainer and not a complete and utter moron like the Best Wishes Ash-defeater.

The Best Wishes series wasn't that bad (tournaments and mini-arcs to keep shit going), but fuck that league.

original series declines strongly after ~30 episodes and it's pretty much garbage except for magmar until diamond / pearl

best wishes is a bit of a train wreck but the animation and art is better than diamond / pearl, has a lot of entertaining episodes, and characters have more personality than both xy and dp

so it's pretty much the best

Their first episode was literally the only time the TRio were badass.

Now, Rocket Grunts had their moments like on the S.S. Anne, but in the very next episode after Viridian City Jessie and James were already comic relief.

the only pokemon anime i've ever watched was the original series in kanto, with ash. i watched the dub because that's all that's available. I liked it though, especially team rocket's shenanigans. they're my favorites.

which season should i watch now? i couldn't deal with jhoto league, it was boring so i quit after 5 or 6 episodes.
