So, we have but a mere 3 days until the official Wii/DS Wi-Fi service is shut down.
The Wii and DS homebrew community are hard at work attempting to preserve data and create a custom server, allowing patched DS/Wii games to connect to it after the official server has gone down.
In relation to Pokemon - only Diamond and Pearl for DS and Pokemon Battle Revolution for Wii are currently available to connect to and test.
Whether you care at this point or not, I'd advise that everybody reserves their DS/Wii friend codes here:

Why is this important?
Friend codes are registered per-save, meaning that if you do not register your existing Friend Codes and intend to connect to custom Wi-Fi post April 20th, you will be forced to start a new game.
