sceptile's attack is not that low, and leaf blade's power increase (90 from 70) bridges the gap just fine. and that's assuming there's not some way to get giga drain or energy ball in the main game.

the real thing you should be worried about is not having a better stab than absorb before leaf blade again

You should be more complaining about how Water Shuriken is a total shit move in general. Leaf Blade being physical sucks for Sceptile but at least it's still a pretty solid move for him. Water Shuriken is just plain bad. Even if Greninja had Skill Link as its secret ability it'd still be bad.
