In OR/AS:

These will be the first remakes where they make drastic changes to the originals. I'm not talking adding new stuff changes, I'm talking altering what was originally there.

I really doubt they're gonna alter any routes. They're capable of doing big ones, they just didn't want to in X/Y. These are different.

They aren't capable of shit. The games get noticeably slower on the bigger routes of X/Y. I can't even imagine what the biggest routes of Hoenn would be like in the X/Y engine.

I like you. Thinking positive about a tiny detail that has a negative connotation on this board. I won't mind gates as much either if gf team two does something to make it alright, like have a schmaltzy theme added to it. Most likely there will just be transitions to different sections of very large routes, as seen when you enter Geosenge from the South in X and Y. Think the difference between encountering islands in Wind Waker to that of encountering them in Phantom Hourglass. It'll be even less disappointing than that even, I think, because you won't for the most part likely be looking dead on towards the un-loaded mock-up version of the route ahead as you go toward it. You can't have great fps AND hella huge unbroken routes, so a compromise is necessary, and one might as well look toward the positives of the situation while it is all still speculation.

Full remakes = These two won't happen.

Sadly these ones are the ones that I see most likely, especially the former.

None of these three are likely since these are full remakes. But like RSE, they probably won't get rematch teams though.

If they don't optimize the XY engine we're in for a big letdown with that one. Probably gonna have 4 or 5 gates scattered through it.

White ledges where you use the Acro bike in creative ways? Gates.

I wouldn't be surprised if they put a gate to separate the desert on route 111 with the rest, since it's also moderately big thanks to that.

I'll never understand this /v/ tier shit. X Y is probably the only pokemon game I've played past 100 hours, and it sure as felt didn't feel any more rushed than gen 4 at release or gen 5 at release or EVERY SINGLE NEW GEN

I agree, D/P were really shitty looking back. It wasn't until Platinum when gen IV started looking like something good.

Gen V was always polished, as they had plenty of time to work with the hardware, but I hope these games help Pokemon look like something awesome on the 3DS.

Nightmare! I would really REALLY not want that to happen! I'm not the best at video games, but I still like to challenge myself (that's a part of the fun)! For my first playthrough, I tried to make it harder and not use the Exp. All item. It made things a little more challenging, but overall... I just wish they could go back to giving us a harder challenge.
