>>19283334Story A: Malcolm and Reese get into a fight over who can get the best pokemon in 24 hours. So they start a contest. Loser is the winners slave for a week. Malcolm goes for trading and breeding. Trying to use his charm and smarts to get the best pokemon possible. Reese walks straight into the forest and after hunting for a bit he sees a shiny Nidoking, only having shit mons he decides that fighting it hand-to-hand is his best chance to beat it and catch it.
Story B: Hal tells the boys to let Dewey in on the contest. They agree. Dewey sees a pidgey and throws his only ball to try and catch it. It sails over the pidgey into the forest and Dewey chases after it. Throughout the episode we quickly cut to the ball rolling down hills and down rivers, Dewey always following.
Resolution:
Malcolm, Reese, and Dewey meet up to see who won.
Reese looks all roughed up from his fight. He shows off his pokemon first. It's his starter Ratata painted and paper mache'ed to look like a shiny Nidoking. Malcolm looks confident. He shows off his pokemon. It's a nidoran. It has a positive nature and all the best breeding moves but is still level 1 because he ran out of time to actually level it up. Malcolm and Reese argue over what is better. The "Nidoking" or the theoretical potential of a lvl 1 well bred nidoran. Dewey screams and says he wants to show his. They all stop and in a condescending way tell Dewey to show off his pokemon. Dewey releases his pokemon and their jaws drop. It's the level 100 shiny Nidoking Reese tried to fight. Malcolm asks how he ever got a shiny pokemon and Dewey tell them the story about how he went chasing after the pokeball and after getting lost in the forest for a while he saw the ball slowly roll from the river to the feet of the shiny Nidoking and the Nidoking went into the ball.
Episode ends with Dewey and his Nidoking on the couch. Malcolm is massaging Deweys back and feeding him cookies. Reese is trying to massage the NIdoking.
